Bridge Span: The distance a bridge extends between two supports.
Drilled Shaft: Constructed to provide deep foundations for buildings, bridges and retaining walls, and to stabilize landslides. This program will employ a highly specialized technique to install the drilled shafts in hard rock.
Superstructure: The part of a structure which is above the level of the adjoining ground or the level of the foundation.
Trestle: A bridge structure composed of bents or towers and supporting stringers or girders forming the floor system.
